We’re proud to endorse Yannette Figueroa Cole for Madison Common Council. Over the years, we’ve been thoroughly impressed by Yannette’s commitment to showing up for her community and centering the voices of those most impacted by City decisions.

We see Yannette in every meeting, at every gathering, and at every training, such is her commitment to relationship-building and collaboration. She is curious, open, and displays a natural ability to work with residents, city agencies, and other stakeholders to solve problems, from sidewalks that are preventing kids from getting to school safely to the city-wide housing crisis. When Yannette shows up, it’s with time, authenticity, and a genuine desire to understand all perspectives. 

Yannette is also action-oriented and strategic. In the sometimes petty and passive aggressive world of city politics, Yannette rises above, speaking directly and frankly. She can disagree with you - she can disagree with us - but she doesn't stop building connections.

Last but not least, Yannette has a stalwart vision for racial justice and the voting record to prove it. She is committed to models of public safety that prioritize care and has put in long hours to see that achieved, including by introducing legislation that advances initiatives such as CARES, the city’s alternative emergency response service.
